러시아 푸틴대통령, 청주세계삼보선수권대회 메세지 보내와

세계삼보선수권대회조직위원회는 오는 11월 청주에서 개최되는 세계삼보선수권대회에 대해 블라디미르 푸틴 러시아 대통령이 최근 주한 러시아대사를 통해 성공적인 개최를 기원하는 메시지를 보내왔다고 전했다.

푸틴 대통령이 외교채널을 통해 한국에서 열리는 대회에 직접 관심을 보인 것은 내년 한-러수교 30주년을 앞두고 이번 세계삼보선수권대회가 양국간 스포츠 무예 교류의 전환점이 될 것으로 보인다.

국제삼보연맹 명예회장을 맡고 있기도 한 푸틴 대통령은 러시아의 국기인 삼보가 올림픽 메달종목에 채택되도록 스포츠 외교를 펼쳐온 것으로 알려졌다. 지난해 11월 삼보가 GAISF로부터 IOC인정종목으로 예비승인됨에 따라 올림픽후보종목군의 자격에 한층 가까이 다가섰다.

11월 8일부터 10일까지 3일간 청주 석우문화체육관에서 개최되는 세계삼보선수권대회에는 100여개국 1,500여명 선수와 임원이 참가하고, 유로스포츠 채널이 세계 70개국에 생중계할 예정이다.

The  World Sambo Championship Organizing Committee said that Russia's President Vladimir Putin recently sent a message from the Russian Ambassador to Korea in response to the World Sambo Championships held in Cheongju in November.

Putin's direct interest in World Sambo Championship held in Korea through diplomatic channels is expected to mark the turning point of sports & martial arts exchanges between the two countries ahead of the 30th anniversary of Korea-Russia diplomatic relations next year.

At the World Sambo Championship, which will be held at Cheongju Seokwoo Culture Gymnasium(Cheongju University) for three days from November 8 to 10, more than 1,500 athletes and officials from over 100 countries will participate, and the Eurosport channel will be broadcast live to 70 countries around the world.
